Wu Xiao Yan, a 22-year-old woman from China, has a serious deformity of her face. She was called an Avatar girl. Wu Xiao Yan’s disease is called fibrous dysplasia (it causes growths in bones). That is why the girl’s face is twisted out of shape. Wu’s parents cannot afford an expensive surgery while their daughter can’t breathe or smell with her nose. Xiao Yan’s doctor says Wu is really brave and doesn’t complain. At the same time the girl must be in a lot of pain.
